Chinking!!

We've been researching what to do with the walls for a long time, vacillating between using synthetic or trying to go with an original look to accent the walls. We decided on using mortar and going with the original look for chinking. Joe the House Doctor started and we are impressed so far with how it is taking shape. We thought we would spend the entire weekend out there, but with the house in the condition it was in, we opted to come home after a night. Here is what we found:

The main bathroom has the white wash walls. and this is the chinking that has been started in that room.

main bath downstairs- we are making this bath smaller to open up the living space
current state of the living room
We had the ceilings removed to open up the parlor- we love the look!

This the kids room upstairs and we still need to have this chinked

This is the back bedroom/new bath. They put a wire backer board and then fill with the chinking

The House Doctor's sign in our front yard
We had the basement "cleaned up"- still freaks me out to be down here- maybe it will become a man cave?

Fireplace

When we were out at the farmhouse a few weeks back we decided to remove the covering over the fireplace. The fireplace was capped many moons ago so we didn't know what we would find or if we would be greeted by any friends. We were pleasantly surprised by what we found...
