Expectations does not equal progress

We went out to the farm house for a night this past weekend. In my mind I was totally convinced that we could knock out the bathroom during this trip. All we had to do was take off the wallpaper, repaint the walls and update the vanity. After 6 plus hours of removing wall paper and only getting two panels done, I was feeling a tad defeated. This was of course the only room that we were not going to immediately touch and it now seems to be the focus of our work. On the upside Cory did knock out a closet...We are looking forward to Jason and Karli's visit this weekend to get some of their thoughts on projects and next steps. Still feeling very overwhelmed by all that we want to do and frankly how much time it takes to do anything..

the green is the paint the other on the right is 5 layers of wall paper

Cory knocked out this closet so that we could enter the bathroom from the living room rather than from the dining room

door from living room that will now open into the bathroom

Termite Eradication

It's funny as when we first saw the house we saw our priorities for the house so differently, than what we know them to be right now, and we are only a month into ownership  After being there we realize that we have a termite problem and need to address that ASAP. We know that the house used to have a saw mill and are convinced that the double porch was probably cut from wood around the property. This is incredible except that we are not certain that the wood is treated and so we took a trip out there to stain the deck.

Deck before

after!

Before

progress! still need to do the upper level

While we were out there we also planted some trees along the property line. Keeping our fingers crossed that they will grow and provide much needed shade during the Summer months.
